Stakeholder Engagement and Consultative Meetings on Community Project Identification and Budgeting
To promote inclusive development and ensure effective use of public resources, Rufunsa Town Council, in collaboration with Ward Development Committees (WDCs), has continued to engage local communities in project identification and participatory budgeting processes, including but not limited to the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

These stakeholder engagement and consultative meetings serve as a platform to involve citizens in determining development priorities, aligning community needs with available resources, and ensuring transparency in the planning and allocation of funds.

Objectives of the Stakeholder Engagement Meetings
To facilitate inclusive project identification by enabling community members to propose and prioritize development initiatives that respond to local needs.

To enhance participatory budgeting by engaging stakeholders in understanding budget allocations and making informed decisions on resource use.

To strengthen awareness of development financing mechanisms such as the CDF, local government budgets, and donor-funded programs.

To promote transparency and accountability in the allocation and use of public resources.

To build consensus and ownership of development initiatives among stakeholders.

To collect community feedback on ongoing or proposed projects for better alignment with development goals.

Benefits of Stakeholder Engagement
Enhanced responsiveness to local needs: Projects reflect the actual priorities of communities rather than top-down planning.

Greater transparency and trust between communities and local authorities.

Improved quality of project proposals through local insights and lived experiences.

Increased accountability in the use of public funds.

Community ownership and sustainability of development initiatives.

Empowered citizens who are more informed and involved in local governance processes.
