The Finance Department is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial affairs of Rufunsa Town Council by ensuring effective service delivery to the local community through proper financial management practices that align with community needs which directly impacts the quality and consistency of services provided. Its responsibilities include:
Budget Preparation and Management: It prepares the annual budget in line with community needs and council priorities. Proper budgeting ensures that resources are allocated to essential services like water supply, waste management, road maintenance, and public infrastructure. Read more
In accordance with section 70 (5) of the public finance management ACT No. 1 of 2018 which states that: A controlling officer shall submit to the Secretary to the Treasury a financial report in respect of the controlling officer, head of expenditure for which that controlling officer is responsible within one month after the end of the preceding financial year. Rufunsa town prepares its financial statements annually and make them available to the public timely.
