Located 165 km east of Lusaka along the Great East Road, Rufunsa District is a place where natural beauty, cultural heritage, and economic potential meet. The district draws its name from the Rufunsa Stream, which flows through several communities and symbolizes life, continuity, and the district’s close connection to nature. Established as an independent district in 2012, Rufunsa previously served as a satellite office under Chongwe Municipal Council and has since grown into one of the six key districts in the province.
