Rufunsa District held a stakeholders consultative meeting and successfully deliberated on the proposed delimitation exercise, during which submissions were formally presented to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ). The submissions were made pursuant to article 58 of the 2026 Amendment Constitution which increased constituencies from 156 to 226
During the deliberations, stakeholders proposed two possible scenarios for Rufunsa District:
1. That the district remains as it is, with no delimitation.
2. That the district be delimitated into two constituencie that the two constituencies
Under the second scenario stakeholders collectively resolved that two constituency be named Chinyunyu and Rufunsa Constituency
